I know myself, I get so behind and busy, but this year, I am going to do my best to visit each week.

A couple of weeks ago, I went with my mom on a Birthday outing. And as you can imagine, as it sometimes goes, I found things for myself while on an outing for her! !! We had a great time, and she just laughed at me when I debated on whether or not to bring this adorable cookie jar home.

This was at a local shop that is run by a local antique dealer named "Junker Val" She used to have a place at the old Stockyards barns at their flea market. I had no idea she was still not at the same place, but she has left the barns flea market. She has her own shop and it is filled with all kinds of goodies!

I had on one of my Doxie sweatshirts and she noticed that right away and asked me if I wanted to see her Dachshund cookie jar. I said NO....right away, but she was not having any of that! And of course, when I saw it, I fell in love with it! It is old as can be and I have NEVER seen another one like it. I told her I'd think about it and we left her shop and walked next door to look in a clothing boutique.

As we got in the car to leave the shopping area, I decided to go back in and get it! She laughed out loud when I walked back in the doors....I am sure she thought, Yep, there is a sucker born every minute!! Oh, and did you notice, I did not mention what I paid for this?? Simply because it was not one of my bargain finds.

There are no labels that I can find at all, but you can see the bottom has lots of crazing. I asked her if she had found it local and she could not remember. She said it might have been in some things that someone brought in to sell to her one weekend. Either way, it has a good home with me! My friend said I should sell it online, that it might fetch a pretty penny!

I said, no thanks....it looks rather pretty on my kitchen counter!! What about you?? Have you ever seen a cookie jar like this one??

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday!!

I know myself, I get so behind and busy, but this year, I am going to do my best to visit each week.

I have really been struggling to get my pictures uploaded and ready to post, but I have just not done it! I had these saved on my computer and will share them for this week. I have lots of new goodies to share, but time is not on my side these last couple of weeks.

My husband was cleaning out the shed last weekend and wanted to throw away some old colanders. I about had a fit...and he said they were junk and not good for anything....I beg his pardon!! They are most certainly not junk and as soon as I get a chance, I'd love to make one of these!

Is this just adorable or what?!

Then of course, here are a few other ideas for unique light fixtures out of vintage finds. I love this idea, and if you look at the middle ones in the photo, those are colanders just like the ones he wanted to toss!

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday! Have a great week!

I know myself, I get so behind and busy, but this year, I am going to do my best to visit each week.

Inspiration can be anywhere....especially on the isles of a thrift store, or a goodwill! Does anyone remember these salad bowl sets from the late 60's or early 70's??

I think my grandma had a set that was similar to these, but the shape was a bit different. I have seen these on the shelves at local thrift stores and goodwill stores but have left them there for someone else.

If I tell you I have looked a dozen times, it might mean I have looked a couple dozen times for some of these bowls. Do I want to serve salad out of them?? Why  no.....I don't......

I want to paint them and turn them into mushrooms for my flower bed! Just look at how cute these are!!! I saved this photo some time last year in hopes I'd find some cheap salad bowls to paint and DIY this crafty idea in my own garden.

So far.....nothing! Have you seen these types of bowls while you are out thrifting?? I am still on the look.....and spring is coming so I better get lucky soon!

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday!!

This is by far the tiniest of little creamers I have ever seen. It is solid white, with adorable scroll work on the sides.

This measures just at one inch tall. Very small and very dainty looking!

There are no markings on the underside, but it was at a local estate sale and I had to have it!

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday~

Vintage Thingie Thursday: Vintage Camper Dreaming

Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday

If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a really good time each and every week!!!

I know myself, I get so behind and busy, but this year, I am going to do my best to visit each week.

This past fall, I thought I had found a little vintage camper like the ones below. It was priced right, and I knew it could be exactly what I wanted it to be. Alas, however, I missed it and it was sold before I could go look at it. I am totally still kicking myself over missing that little camper.

Just look at the colors on these two! I have not given up on finding one of these, I have done a lot of research on restoring one and I am pretty confident we can fix something up to be fantastic.

I just need to find one, and get there before it is sold. It truly is amazing how hard these are to come by these days for a good price. Oh, there are plenty to be found if you want to pay a few thousand dollars for them, but cheap as I am, I want a good price and put a little work into it to get the result I want.

I did however find this cute little vintage camper bird house the last day of the year. It was at a store that was in its final days before closing. It was a steal at $5.00. I love it, as it is a reminder to keep my dream alive and not give up!

Great words to think on as the new  year starts. I know sometimes I find myself so busy, I forget to enjoy the ride. This year.....I intend to simplify and if that means slowing down to enjoy the ride, I intend to do just that!

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday and a wonderful and happy New Year to each and every one!
