The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size.
~Gertrude S. Wister
~~See this daffodil? I told my husband this past fall that if these flowers did not bloom in the spring, I was going to pull them up. I have had these planted in my front flower bed for well over 15 years and for the last 13 of those years they have not bloomed once.....imagine my surprise this week when I discovered this wonderful bloom. Simply Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteMay the Peace and Love of our Lord be with you today and always!
Well go check out my blog and you can see what I woke up to this morning. :) Still Winter in Wisconsin. I would love to see some spring flowers SOON.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise---it was just telling you ---" don't give up on me " it just takes time for things to get to maturity and bloom, even in people----some times some things are just slower than others----we all need a good dose of understanding and patience----glad you did not throw it away----very beautiful !!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise. I once lived in a home where the bulbs had been in the ground a very long time and I "lifted" them and replanted at a depth of twice the length of the bulb and after skipping one year, they started blooming. A lot of work but worth it!
ReplyDeleteGuess they must have been listening. I have some iris doing the very same thing...maybe I need to go "talk" to them. Your daffodil is really spectacular.

absolutely stunning pic of Spring being right around the corner...
ReplyDeleteGood Job! You might want to thin them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the beginning of springtime.
ReplyDeleteLove that G. Wister quote. Your daffodil is beautiful. It must have heard you talking about pulling it up! laurie
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny? I wonder why they haven't bloomed much?
ReplyDeleteOne year I planted a million bulbs and watched in dismay as the squirrels dug them up and ate almost all of them. I still have some survivors that bloom every year and I'm so proud of them.
Good Morning!
ReplyDeletePlease stop by my blog and pick up an award from me to you!
