Vintage Thingie Thursday: Wall Art

Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a really good time each and every week!!!
If you are new to this party, please take the time to
read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so please make sure you follow the instructions. Please only ONE link per week. Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies on display that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.

If you are here to read the follow up from my Tuesday post, please accept my apology. I just ran out of time this week and did not get the documents scanned or all the information gathered up. I will do my best to have it ready for next week. I really want to finish the story on this fantastic book.

These two wall plaques are something I have had since around 1981. They were found in a old shed at a house in which the old couple moved out of and moved to town. They left lots of things behind, and I rescued these. I would estimate these to date back to the 1940's or earlier.

It was amazing that there were no scratches, or nicks in the porcelain. I have never seen any others quiet like these two before.

I love how they appear to have a very ornate frame surrounding the main image.

One looks like a fall scene and the other looks like a summer scene to me. I always wondered if these were two from a set of four or if they were just a pair all along.

This is the marking on the back of them, they still have the original sticker. These are one of my favorite things I have and I am glad they have survived through the years.

Have a great week and a Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday!!

  9. I've been finding recipes that Grandma would have used-everything from facial lotion to dishwasher detergent. Although, my Grandma didn't have a dishwasher until the 80's or so. But, this is Organic, and easy to make! Enjoy!

  14. It's been a crazy-busy week here too! I keep thinking it's Friday today and my regular week doesn't start until Tuesday!

Such pretty plaques! I agree that there were probably 4 at one time. It might be neat to find the others! (like that china plate pattern and jug??)

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
