Regarding the disappearing Vintage Thingie Thursday Button:
It is my conclusion that the problem many of you are having with the Vintage Thingie Thursday button disappearing from your blog is the same problem I have had. I think that the reason that is happening is because it is the original button used by the original hostess of this wonderful weekly event and for some reason, I think the image was deleted from the Apron Queen's hosting site.....Thus....the disappearing button.
To rectify that:
1. Save the image on this post to your computer.
2. Go to your add page layout page and click on the sidebar Add Gadget. 3. scroll down to where you see add picture, click on that. Now select the image from you computer to download. Now, add my blog link in the link window and click save.
That should correct the problem, and the photo should show up and link back to my blog. Sorry for the confusion on this, it has taken me a while to get this sorted out to work again.
If you are new and would like to participate in VTT, the clear instructions are posted at the end of this post this week. We would love to have you join us.
This week, I would like to show you my vintage bear planters. You know I love bears and I also have several vintage planters, these are just the ones that have bears as a theme.
I just love this little Davey Crockett guy hunting for a bear, and the bear has him fooled and is hiding....this is a eBay purchase several years ago...I just love it.
These two are showing little black bears. I like the one with the bee on his nose from stealing honey.......
This happy little bear enjoys laying inside a felled log......look how happy he looks.
I really think this one is so cute, shows the back side and the head of the bear as he climbs in a log, this one is one of my favorites.
This is another happy little bear. I think this one was a eBay purchase too, and if memory serves me correctly, I think I paid about $15.00 for this one. I thought it was unusual and loved the little cub on top of the log.
This is the marking on the bottom of the last planter, none of the other bear planters have markings on them.
Hope you enjoyed these little planters to day. If you would like to participate in today's event, please follow the guidelines below!
(1) do a post about something vintage.
(2) Visit all the participates and leave a comment.
(3) Link in with the link at the bottom of this post, please use a perma-link to link in with, that way, anyone can refer back to your post if they can not get to it on Thursday.

How unusual! Have never seen anything like these before. They fit your Colorado cabin like decor perfectly!! Can't wait for my life to settle down some so I can start posting on Thursdays again. I miss the gang who regularly post!
ReplyDeleteLove your vintage bears! Thank you so much for hosting Vintage Thursdays - I have really enjoyed the last 2 weeks and am already thinking of what I will post next week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the disappearing button solution. I thought it was just me or my computer - or both ;)
ReplyDeleteYour bears are adorable. The happy one in the log reminds me of Tex Avery drawn cartoons I watched as a kid!
Pretty cute, Suzanne! Thanks also for explaining the VTT clickable picture link---it worked!
ReplyDeleteThose are so darling. I have never seen those before :-)
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I love them all but my favorite is the last one from eBay. You're making me think I need to collect bear planters now. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the planters. I have one similar but it's a deer and not a bear.
ReplyDeleteAll cute but Davey Crockett gets my vote. Rosy cheeks and all.
ReplyDeleteThese are just the cutest.. Bears in any form are just tumbly, rumbly, cute fun. Fun touches of wonderful, shows lovely "fun" personality you must be.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteLove your bears, thanks for hosting this VTT extravaganza.
Newbie in Normandy,

The bear on the log is my favorite, we Coloradans must have our bears!
ReplyDeleteYour collection of cute bears is lovely!

These cute little planters just SCREAM '50's, don't they?
ReplyDeleteYour planters are adorable. I love the Davy Crockett one and the felled log bear.
ReplyDeleteLittle black bears are just so adorable. I can see why you love them so.
I adore vintage planters, especially when they get a little crazed and have that patina. The animals are so sweet! Thanks for a wonderful VTT as always.
ReplyDeleteThose bears are just adorable. Whenever I see a collection like that I just want to go out and start one of my own ...
ReplyDeleteYou have the cutest bear collections!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

chasity
those planters are amazing! I love davey crocket too
ReplyDeleteSuch cute planters!! I love them all. I am also interested in how you display them too. Have a great Thursday!
ReplyDeleteThese planters are so adorable! I wasn't able to get anything together for VTT this week! So sad! I'm sure I'll find something fun for next week, though!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your planters... I did a post this morning about nesting and buying too too too much. And posted some things I need to let go.
ReplyDeleteOr that I'm considering letting go of. I think the flip side of the buying is that I've bought too much because I see something and grab it before it gets away!
sigh.
Tracy
Some of these would be cute with a little plant. However, with your "children", I am sure they would find a way to end that. I like them all. As you know I enjoy anything to do with plants.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!!

Hi Suzanne, Your bear planters are so adorable. I can't believe I haven't seen them before now. Your collection is very special. There is a Shafer and Vader company that makes unusual figurines. I wonder if this is one of them. I will try and find out for you. My sisters know a lot about that company. They are antique dealers for twenty plus years. This week they are doing a show in Atlanta. I will have to ask them next week.
ReplyDeleteLove your post today.
Hugs...Jeanne
Hi Suzanne!
ReplyDelete"Grrrowwlll" say your bears...I like the cub on the log, so sweet! Thanks again for hosting and for stopping by.
xo
Pam
Oh how cute -- I don't think I've ever seen bear planters, but I sure do remember similar planters in houses when I was a kid -- What fun to be the lucky designer who made a living dreaming up these cute, and witty, things.
ReplyDeleteThanks -- love the trip down memory lane. :-)
Cass
Love the bear with the bee on his nose - that is one I'd love to have!!! So sweet! I have a small collection of larger bears. Found a small chalkware one, but DH would not agree to let me purchase it - he thought it looked 'tacky'! MEN! Who advised them that their vote should count, anyways???
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet and cute. What treasures.
