Tell me Tuesday: Week Fourteen
Welcome to Tell Me Tuesday.....First off the title is a bit deceiving.....it really is not about you telling me anything.... but answering a question truthfully and maybe telling yourself a little something you had not thought about.
I'd love for you to join me each week, and copy the question onto your blog and answer the question....and link back here. I am sure it will be interesting how there will be many different answers to the same question.....and hopefully give each of us something to think about as this new year progresses. My thought is so many people (including myself) are looking for some answers to various things. I have a feeling that the answers are inside needing to be jiggled loose and maybe a question posed a certain way will have a cause and effect in a good way. We will see how it goes! I have committed to this once a week for the whole year of 2012. I'd love for you to take the challenge with me!
I am keeping the rules simple...I'd love to watch this grow as the year goes on.
1. Grab the button on the sidebar if you like so others can find this new writing experience each week.
2. Once you link in, visit the person who linked in before you and leave them a comment. It would be great to visit and leave comments for as many as you can. But at least try and leave the person ahead of you in the link a comment of support.
3. Please link back to my blog and mention Tell Me Tuesday somewhere in your POST. That is it....easy.
Most of all, look at this writing experience with an open mind. Sometimes the questions will be hard...and require some thought. That is a good thing. Other times it will be easy. You can add photos, or whatever you like to your post. It is about you after all. ~ Thanks for joining me.....I hope you enjoy this each week.
Week Fourteen Question:
Fill in the blank:
I am lost without_____________________.
As I sat and thought about how I would answer this question, several things came to mind but somehow they never really fit the question.
When asked that question, the most honest answer would have to be I am lost without my glasses.
I have very recently noticed that if I leave the house and forget my glasses, I can forget reading price tags on anything. And well, being the type of person who likes to treasure hunt, it just does not do much good not to be able to read things like price tags. Likewise, if I don't have my glasses, menus along with anything smaller print can not be read.
I guess it is a good thing the street signs are in large print, because if not, I surely would be lost in every since of the word. I guess that is the thanks I get for either wearing my glasses so much that now I can not see without them (nearly), or it is the fact, I am getting older and old eyes can't see so well.
Whichever the reason...it really is a burr in my behind lots of times. More times than not, I leave the house with just my purse and keys and it is not until I get to the store that I realize I can not see half of what I need to be about to see and read. It is annoying and I wonder how that creeped up on me so suddenly. I am pretty sure I am seeing crystal clear what was meant by the old saying "It's tough to get old"
What about you? What are you be lost without??

I don't have the option not to wear my glasses. A couple of weeks ago, the woman across the street backed into my friend Paula's car parked in front of our house. She said the car (being light blue) blended in with the sky - totally ignoring the green and brown tree, the red house, the green, green grass... (then she told me "I've lived here 47 years and never had to worry about a car being there in the road" - we've lived here 6 1/2 years and I know in that time there have been lots of things parked there). At 87, she wasn't wearing her glasses either... Let's go shopping or take a quilting class - I'll drive. ;)
ReplyDeleteMade it with an hour to spare this week! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have never left the house without my glasses because I need them for distance and can't comfortably see the door on my way out without them! But true that if I tried I wouldn't get very far without them!
