Today started with me having to run a couple of errands. I wanted to make a couple of stops at one of my favorite Goodwill stores on the way home. My husband however, called and said to get home. Bad storms were coming......
......no sooner did I make it home that it hit! My poor dogs were going bonkers before I was even to the front door. Sophie was shaking like a leaf on a tree.....and speaking of trees....they were swaying so from the wind I was afraid they might snap into.
This storm passed right over my husbands work and was moving north east. All of this happened in the span of a few minutes...it felt like hours.
Trucks picked up and tossed over 200 feet in the air......at one time there were four on the screen of the television spinning like tops.
Tonight, there are over 40,000 people with no electricity, some are friends of mine. There were up to 20 Tornado's confirmed. We are safe. Some of our friends have been
effected but thankfully there have been no confirmed deaths at this time in all of the areas that experienced damage.
The winds blew, rain fell, hail slammed the ground and the sirens blew......loud.......I gathered my three pups up and placed them in the bathtub. I closed the bathroom door and sat on the floor petting them trying to give them some comfort. My husband called and I am sure thought I was overreacting. I don't think so.
Here is a video of one of the tornados today..... This was less than seven miles from my house......overreacting??? I think not!
I heard possibly more storms are on the way............

more are on the way?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteGood to know that you are OK. Scary stuff for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat is so scary, we were just watching it on TV. I don't think you were too careful. They say the bathroom is the safest place to be. So pleased you are alright

You can never overreact when a storm is coming. Better to get in a safe place and nothing happen than to ignore the warnings and be injured. Prayers for all who were affected and for your continued safety.
ReplyDeleteVi algumas cenas na TV e fiquei morrendo de medo, imagine filmar???Bom saber que você está bem,mas que foi maluquinha...foiUm grande beijo e Feliz Páscoa.
ReplyDeleteYour in my prayers. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to know you and the puppies are safe. The storms just passed here (north of Canton), and we are finally breathing easier. Isn't God awesome...NO deaths that we know of...prayers were heard!!
ReplyDeleteOur doxies were all inside with us too. We're very thankful for the safety
we were afforded.
Blessings,
Doni
Better safe than blown away! Good job at doggie mom-ing too! Stay smart and well!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Glad you are safe! Give those pups some love from me!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know you are safe!
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Thank God it didn't hit you! I lived in Witchita Falls and always got such a bad feeling in my stomach when the sirens went off.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
I live in Mansfield and we just got some rain and thunder. My cats were scared and hiding under my skirts. I didn't realize that many tornadoes hit. I don't understand the people who were driving straight towards the tornado and not stopping! I really don't get scared about tornadoes, but I have common sense. If more are expected today maybe I should get my cat carriers in the house. You should have seen me trying to get my scared cats in the closet, it did not work!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne I am so thankful you and your family are OK. It was so bad and so scary watching it on TV and I can only imagine your fear! Keeping you and all effected by these tornado's in my prayers. Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are ok. We saw the video live at work of the trucks in the air...wow.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to read that you are ok! Tornados are so destructive but at least there is some warning! Blessings, Debbie
ReplyDeleteI was on facebook at the time you had posted the status of the storm, so glad you made it through okay. We had gotten some Flameless Candle Lanterns before our last bad storms and when we lost power they were very handy to have.

Oh, my... I'm glad you are OK. I hope you all stay safe if more bad weather shows up!
ReplyDeleteEaster greetings from Australia♥
Thank you for posting this. It’s exactly what I was looking for!
ReplyDeleteOmg! Looks terrifying! Men say we overreact I think they just under react! =D
ReplyDeleteOh do I understand how frightened you must have been yesterday. On the news I saw trucks picked up and tossed like toys. I live where a tornado hit last year and stayed on the ground for miles, not far from my home. It hit April 27 and our town is still cleaning up and rebuilding. We lost 53 souls in that tornado! Overreact? I don't think so. I'm glad you are safe.

Wow, Suzanne, this is so scary!! We were watching the news in our state of NJ, and saw the things being tossed around like toys. Thank goodness you were safe. Poor doxies!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Hi Suzanne! I am so grateful you are safe. It is unbelievable that no deaths were recorded. My goodness, the eeriness of it is unimaginable. When was newly married a tornado struck Denver and many people in a mobile hoe park died. Trees in the Park Hill neighborhood where many of the docs I worked with were uprooted like twigs. Trees that stood for at least 50 years! I will never forget that!
ReplyDeleteYour poor puppies! I know how the pets hate fireworks. They get so agitated. I am just glad you were there with them. Blessings Anne
