Vintage Thingies Thursday: Vintage Dog Treasures

Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. The
First Vintage Thingies Thursday for  2013. That is hard to believe! Time is marching on!!

If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a really good time each and every week!!!
If you are new to this party, please take the time to
read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so please make sure you follow the instructions. Please only ONE link per week. Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies on display that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.

As you all know, I love doggie treasures!! I have a couple to share with you today. The first one was a gift from my mom. We were at a shop in Austin...a terrific shop that is full of the most unusual things that you could search your whole life for and NEVER see them for sale anywhere else.

This shop is on South Congress, right where all the food trucks are...my husband and I love this place and always want to take people there when we visit my daughter. Funny thing is, I don't think any of these people we have taken there are half as impressed as we are...we just love it and all the yummy food trucks.

My sister in law, mom and I were browsing among all the uncommon objects when my sister in law spotted this cute little dachshund planter. It is rather small and of course I wanted it. I promised my mom that once she purchased it and wrapped it up, I'd forget all about it.....ummm....sure I did!!  Shhhhhh don't tell mom any different!

This little dog was not found at the shop, but would have fit in well there. I spotted him on one of my thrifting trips and brought him home. He may end up in my etsy shop at some point...he is not a dachshund after all, and well....that is all about that!

Happy Vintage Thingies Thursday, I am so glad you are joining me this year once again.

  11. Hi Suzanne, Yep, it is really me. My New Years resolution is to get back to what I enjoy so much and so here I am today.

Your dachshund treasures are darling. You and your family always know the thing you love the most. The fun is in the hunt. I never see a dachshund without thinking of you.

I wish you much happiness and good health in 2013. Last night I was going through some old Christmas cards and found one from you. I have missed you.
    Love, Jeanne

  15. Hi Suzanne...your doggie finds are so perfect for your collection. I have seen the weiner vase before...may have even had one at one time. He sure has a great looking background in that picture. Looks like you have been busy piecing and your design wall is filling up.

I've been sewing, too, and setting myself up with lots of piecing and quilting to do in 2013. Happy New Year and thanks for hosting VTT. It's one of my favorites!

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
