Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. If you are new to this party, please take the time to read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so please make sure you follow the instructions. I have gotten a few complaints about people linking in and not doing what is required, please, try and visit each and every participant, that is really important. Please only ONE link per week. Thank you for your cooperation in this. I know we are all busy, but even if it takes a few days to do so, please do that. Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies being showed that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.
This week, I will be away, and from ANY computer access. I had this post all set up for you guys and girls so you would not miss a thing....never mind that I will be missing out, but you all go ahead and have a great time! I'll try and catch up before next Thursday, I may be a bit slow, but believe me, I don't really want to miss a thing, so I will be visiting....just a little slow in doing so, don't give up on me!!!
It is no surprise I am fond of vintage red kitchen items. Here are a few of my finds that are displayed on my counters.....
I love this old vintage jar, I left the lid in its original condition, and it houses all my vintage cookie cutters....love it!
This little tin is a recent find at an estate sale. I paid 25 cents for it, and just love the bright, bold reds.....I was thrilled with finding this one.
Vintage coffee mug filled with vintage measuring spoons. I only recently became aware that around my area, these are getting harder to find, especially in sets. So when I find the, I snatch them up...literally!
These are some of my vintage pot holders. I just love these, and so wish I knew how to make them, they are so charming and I always wonder about the women who made them.
Finally, the last estate sale I went to had two of these refrigerator dishes, and I just loved the beautiful blue. I purchased both of them, with the lids for $5.00. I was pleased with that price. I love these dishes and when I think the price is good, I always buy them....sure the heck beats using plastic, and I am convinced much healthier.
Have a great Vintage Thingies Thursday everyone...the link should work just fine, and even though I am surely missing you all today, I will be thinking about each and every one of you....truly.

Great stuff, all of it. I have those blue dishes at the end. I also have red ones that are half the size. They were my mother in law's. Great for leftovers. I use the red ones for sugar bowls.
ReplyDeleteI have a bell cookie cutter just like yours. My husband's grandmother made me some wonderful pot holders as a wedding gift. They are much like yours and I wouldn't trade them (or use them) for anything. I agree with you on using glass instead of plastic. I truly believe it is healthier.
ReplyDeleteI so love refrigerator dishes. Wish I could find more at reasonable prices.

Hi Suzanne, Thank's for hosting today. And that is a great collection of kitchen goodies.......Julian
ReplyDeleteLoved your thingies! I use those type of measuring spoons all the time, I love them and I love those refrigerator dishes, I also have lots of them. I display my old cookie cutters in one of my cookie jars.
ReplyDeleteYou have found a nice way to keep your vintage kitchen thingies.
ReplyDeleteLove all your vintage kitchen thingies! As you know I have a thing for Pyrex but also for vintage tins...love your tin!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
You have some very nice vintage goodies, and it's fun looking at the photos! I enjoy wondering about the people who used to own the goods that are now mine, and especially the hand made doilies and pot holders - the crochet work back then is wonderfully created!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine had a kitchen that was - well I call it tupperware greeen - the mint green of older tupperware and red. Loved it. And so Ive always loved the red accents in kitchens!
ReplyDeleteWow how pretty. I love the red lids on the glass jars. My favorite is your stack of potholders with the red in them. So neat!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT
Hi Suzanne, Love the cookie cutters. potholders, mug and it is all fun. I am joining in today but just logged on. We have been out of town until late last night.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy time away.
Hugs, Jeanne
Dear Lord give her the strength to stay away from these estate and garage sales.
ReplyDeleteLove the refrigerator container- Really a great shade of blue...
ReplyDeleteOh My Gravy! I love the jar of cookie cutters you have! I have a few vintage cookie cutters I decorate with at Christmas, why in the world didn't I think of using them year round?! Now I must rummage through all of my Christmas decorations and find them. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good trip! Love the refrigerator bowls! Also love the crocheted potholders.
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT, Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteLove all the nifty thrifties you showcased, but what touches my heart is the jar filled with old cookie cutters. Oh I love that!
Also -- yeah-- the crocheted potholders. Lots of hours and love in those humble things.
Cass
I am with you on the refrigerator dishes! I too try to store my leftovers in glass, as plastic will kill you these days.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I have a vintage crocheted potholder pattern around here somewhere if you are interested!
Oh Suzanne what a great find in those refrigerator dishes and the price is outstanding. I love using them. I also am going to steal your idea of putting my old cookie cutters in an old jar, what a great way to keep them all together and close at hand.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week.
Molly

I love red in kitchens. My kitchen is currently red. I do have some vintage cookie cutters too. ONe I just can't bear to get rid of. One day I need to post about the vintage stuff I inherited from my mother before and after she died.
ReplyDeleteI love your blue refrigerator dish!! And I LOVE how you have displayed the crocheted potholders in the glass jar, layer upon layer like a cake!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your finds, especially that mug and the refrigerator dishes - that is such a great blue. And I agree with you about plastic containers.
ReplyDeleteI love all your collections, and the way you are displaying your potholders is lovely! It sure does show them off! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat fun stuff! Love the old crocheted pieces and of course, the blue Pyrex!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne,
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have discovered your blog! My best friend's name is Suzanne, and I have a black & tan dauschund that looks just like Dora. Her name is Lucy. Can't wait to check back in and see what's new.
