Where Am I? I seem to be lost......

I have asked that very thing...over and over....Where has the person I call myself gone??? A few short years ago, I could work circles around anyone I knew. I'd start early in the morning and not stop until way in the night. Now....half way through the day, I am out of steam. Worn out.

I am finding that I am not familiar with this person I call myself these days. Likewise, I really don't care much for them. I don't like not getting everything done that I feel I should be accomplishing day to day. Why does it seem so hard to focus on any one task for very long? Why is that so hard when several years ago it was not. I feel like Maxine.....where has my Stuff gone?????

I am worn out tonight....and I should not be. I am tired, and discouraged as I guess it is a sign of getting older. Or a sign I need to get myself in gear and get in better shape. It is hard to admit that might be the very problem. What a cycle...needs more energy...has no energy to start.....wow.....I have decided old age is not so fun....or the very feeling that you are getting old......think I will call it a night....Oh.....and it is only 8:00pm.

In considering Maxine's advice....stop whining.....tomorrow is another day......maybe if I don't look too hard, my old self might show back up....with all the stuff that seems to have gone missing as well!! Ahem...... I will at least be optimistic!

  1. Make sure you go for a check-up. I know the energy goes down but ... its worth checking out.

  2. Well, I want to encourage you and say, everyone feels that way sometimes! And I don't know how old you are, but as we get along in age, we don't seem to have the energy we used to have. But sometimes we just need a jump start, or an extra rest. Be easy on yourself~~ your mojo will return, I'm sure!!

  5. I've been having a lot of "if I feel like this now what am I going to be like in 20 years" thoughts lately. I know how you feel. Hang in there.

  6. Seems like since I turned 60 I just cannot do what I use to do and it takes so much energy! I understand and I just realized I need more rest. Drives me nuts not to be able to do what I want but it is what it is. Hope you feel better about it all soon! My get and go has gone somewhere without me! hugs, Linda

  7. I think the old me took off a year or so ago. I'm pretty sure "old me" is never coming back (probably having too much fun partying with the old you!) Guess it's time to embrace and discover the new version of us.....when we can find some energy.

  8. I so agree! I lay in the bed at night planning and thinking about the things I want to get done the next day!! I can only get about half of the things I want to get done DONE and it makes me soo mad!! Why can't I be like I was before the cycle of back surgeries once or twice a year since 2006?? Why did those things have to rob me of ME!!Oh well, like you said tomorrow is another day and I will finish what I started today!!
I hope you find the things in the morning that were missing when you woke up today!! if you find mine can you send them back to NC??!!
    Hugs

  9. I think age slows down our bodies but our minds still think we can do anything and then we get depressed when we figure that out...it's hard and it makes me want to whine and scream and shout, but alas, I'm too darned tired.

Try some Vitamin D...or at least have your levels checked. It's amazing how such a little vitamin can make such a mess if it's low. take care..jj

  10. Wake up early, eat some oat meal, go to the track and walk and then keep your mind to what you want to do and don't let your self slow down! You will be tired but that will make the moment your head hits the pillow even better! Love you!

  13. I am closing in on 50 and feel every bit like you. I haven no idea your age, but get yourself checked out. It can't hurt. It could also just be your body preparing for the winter months. I know that sounds somewhat silly but it happens.

  14. You are speaking to me this morning!!! I couldn't agree more about being tired and worn out and wishing it wasn't so! I came down with Chronic Fatigue Syndrom in 2002 after contracting a virus, and my life changed dramatically. In those days I was still working and I found I couldn't hold down a 40-hr a week job and had to cut my hours back. Housework went undone because I only had the energy for work. But, even after retiring, I am too busy for words, and sometimes people forget that I have an illness and think I can do more than I can. Sometimes I think I can do more than I can. Yes, I wish I could...but, hey, Maxine is right, no whining! :-) Great post!

  16. I've been going through something very similar. If you figure out what's causing it, let me know.

  17. I'm four score minus 10 years old and recently decided I needed more strength and energy if I want to live long and prosper! In September I joined Curves, and, for someone who had never exercised on a regular basis, I was surprised that I like going 3 times a week. Already I feel stronger and I know I'm gaining in flexibility. I think how you feel frequently depends on your attitude. The more you groan, the worse you feel! I try to start each day with positive thoughts and I stay happy almost all the time.

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
