Vintage Thingie Thursday: Vintage Vase and Vintage Cards - And Senior Birthday List!!

Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a "dog-gone" good time each and every week!!!
If you are new to this party, please take the time to
read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so  please make sure you follow the instructions. Please only ONE link per week.
This week I have a cute little vase I found that just screams 1970's to me! At first, when I saw this I thought it might be some type of milk glass, but I am not sure, it is pretty thick. No matter, I loved the little flowers.

Here is a side shot of the little vase. No markings at all on this one....it sorta reminded me of the glass you would see in things that were made by Avon during the 1970's, but like I said....there were no markings.

I think it looks so cute in my window ledge....makes me smile!!!

Now another thing I want to share is the Birthday card for seniors. My blogging friend who inspired this opportunity passed away suddenly last month and it was a tragic shock for her family and friends. Infact, one of her last post on facebook was about a Birthday coming up and sending out a card.

I'd like to encourage you to do just that....bless a senior with a card and a dollar bill.....not only will it brighten someone's day, but it is also keeping the giving spirit of my friend, Pat alive and well.

I picked these vintage cards up at an estate sale.....I just love vintage cards and may very well send one out this month.

We have two Birthdays this month....

Joyce Walker will be 80!! She is full of life, loves chickens and roosters, takes care of her husband better than you could ever imagine!! A very special lady indeed!! Her Birthday is July 2nd...I know very near, but she loves to "Birthday" long after the date so go ahead and mail a card with 1.00....she won't mind she loves surprises!!

The second one is also a Joyce, she will be 82. She lost her husband a few years ago, but still does more for herself than she ever should be doing at this age!! Full of life and loves to save a buck!!! I know a card and a dollar would thrill this one beyond believe as well....if you can 't send a dollar, a card will do just fine. Her birthday is July 18th.

As always, thank you so much for being a part of this project....and I'd like to ask instead of taking the time to leave me a comment, instead write a Birthday note and send to these special ladies!! Help me make their day a little brighter and full of fun and a super surprise by a card shower!!!

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday everyone....have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!

  5. What a lovely gesture, Suzanne! Not only will the birthday cards give the elderly great joy, but I'm sure for many the money will be quite helpful.

Love your little cute vase..and it does look like Avon. Doubt that it is since there's no markings.

  15. Hi Suzanne,
Your Cards for Senior project is a wonderful idea. Thanks for the inspiration and reminder. I will send a card to your friends and I have a couple of my own that I can reach out to as well. How caught up we get in our own lives that we forget about those who don't get out and about like they once did. Your little 70s vase is darling too. Great colors. Thanks for hosting this fun party.

  18. Sorry, I am running late on some of my comments. I like that little vase. I still cannot vision where you have all these neat things stashed. Wish more would participate in the senior cards, That blue bottle does belong to you know who. Had to wash it first.

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
