I guess I am not doing so well at juggling things right now and need to work on my time management skills....hahahaha

I have not forgotten the fact that I have not updated on my weight loss journey......I promise that is coming soon with recipes.....hopefully next week I will be caught up some and get back to normal......

Now....I want to show you a little surprise I received in the mail. A few weeks ago, I entered a giveaway at New York Vintage Linens and was thrilled beyond compare when I received an email saying I had won. Seriously, this was right up my alley, and in two days time, I received this wonderful package of goodies!

Just look at this adorable apron, all trimmed in red and perfect for displaying during the holiday season...I just love this.

Also included was this adorable white trimmed in red table topper, or small tablecloth...it is so pretty, I just love it. See all those pretty roses? That is a wonderful table runner, and it is ever so pretty. Included also was two pretty embroidered pillow cases....oh, happy day!

Here is a up close picture of the table runner and the details......I love it.....

And finally, this really pretty doily......this is really a nice size and very pretty.

here is a closeup of the details.....this package was perfect for me...because...well....you know I love red, and no question vintage linens are a passion of mine.....These goodies will be treasured for always! If you have not visited New York Vintage linens, please do so, there are wonderful vintage things on display and I promise you won't be disappointed in your visit! Thank you Carolyn for such a wonderful giveaway, I will treasure these goodies and they will have a great home!

This sweet little manger sits under my pink Christmas tree in my sewing room....in keeping with the spirit of the season, I wanted to be sure to include a Christmas vintage thingie!

Have a wonderful Vintage Thingie Thursday, I can hardly wait to visit and see all the wonderful things on display today....I will be out of pocket for most of Thursday, but I will stop by each one of your post later on during the day....just did not want you to think I had forgotten about you!! VINTAGE THINGIES THURSDAY: Vintage Silver Christmas Tree

It may come to a surprise to you that I have a rather obsession with VINTAGE things....hahahah....a few years ago, I purchased the ultimate item that brings back warm and fuzzy feelings from my childhood.....a vintage silver tree.

I have not put this tree up in several years, but decided this year, it was a must. I love this tree, it reminds me of happy times at my grandmothers house at Christmas time. My memaw always had a real tree in the large front window of her living room, decorated with red lights and red ornaments. But the crowning jewel was her aluminum silver tree complete with color wheel in the dining room window.

I can remember when we would arrive at her house, and if it was already dark outside, the first thing I would look for was the beautiful silver tree in her dining room window, glowing with beautiful colors provided by the color wheel. It was like magic and wonder for a young girl. These memories are forever carved in my heart, memories of a magic tree, the magic of Christmas and of course the never ending love of the most wonderful person I have ever known, my beloved grandmother.

I have several vintage ornaments I have displayed on the tree, most were purchased last year at a local antique mall, where one seller had nothing but vintage Christmas things....my normal thrifty self lost all control......no joke.

How can anyone who remembers the nostalgia of these trees not get a warm and fuzzy feeling.....happens to me every time. My husband appreciates this tree too, he remembers his own family having one...but my kids....they do not appreciate it like I do. They have memories of only green trees, not vintage magic ones....and I am hoping to change that...at least if I ever have grandchildren, they most certainly will feel the magic I felt years ago with my own grandmother when they come to visit...you can count on that!!!

Have a great Vintage Thingie Thursday everyone...and since I can barely get a post up a few times a week lately, and most certainly not two in one day,let me just say, if you missed my post about my cherished son earlier on Wed. click here.....you can read about another obsession I have......
