Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a "dog-gone" good time each and every week!!!
If you are new to this party, please take the time to read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so please make sure you follow the instructions. Please only ONE link per week. Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies being showed that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.
This week, I want to show you a few of the vintage planters I have picked up lately because I had to have them, or because they were too cute to leave behind. Don't you just love it when that happens??
This one is a McCoy. I paid $1.00 for it at Goodwill. It does have a hairline crack down the back of the planter, but it no way takes away from the pretty front. I love the pink and green on this one.
This little bird planter is a recent find at a charity sale. It is marked Japan on the bottom and I think it was a great find for 50 cents.
Anything with puppies on it always catches my eye. This was so sweet, I just had to bring it home.
And talk about sweet, this one is a real charmer. I don't plant any plants in these, I just like to keep them on a shelf and look at them. Some of the ones I have may be worth more than others, but for the most part, I love them all and enjoy them all the same.
Bailey decided she'd get in on the act too.....she has a look on her face like, "What about me" I had to tell her she was a baby and far from being vintage.....but was loved just the same if not more!!! She seemed to accept that answer and was wagging her tail once again!
Have a great Vintage Thingie Thursday and a wonderful weekend ahead. I'll see you all next week with more vintage treasures!

I've said it before and I will say it again, we have the same taste when it comes to these little guys. I just love them and can not resist much to my kid's dismay. My boys make fun of me for liking all of these cute guys.
ReplyDeleteThey have so many fun vintage planters! And you have a great collection! I love that little birdy one.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that McCoy is a great find! And Bailey- what a looker she is too, lol! Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteHi, the planters are so adorable. I can imagine how nice they look all grouped together. It makes it even better when you find them at such a bargain.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting. I'll be looking around.
I enjoyed seeing your cute planters and sweet dog. I have a couple of apple planters, and I limit myself to those.
ReplyDeleteHello Suzanne, Thank You for hosting today and I like your collection of vintage pottery. Have a good evening...Julian
ReplyDeleteReally love your planters! I have collected them for years. I had to build a potting shed to hold all of the. Started buying them when they were about $2. The McCoy was a really find! And Bailey posed so nice for you!
ReplyDeleteThose puppy planters are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThese planters are so cute. My Mom collects McCoys but nothing like these. Just love the sad faced puppy ~ so sweet!

ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! ~ Sarah
These are such great finds, especially the McCoy. I love them all. Happy VTT!
ReplyDeletethey are so very sweet! i love Bailey too she's got such an adorable face :)
ReplyDeleteBailey is too precious!
ReplyDeleteTell Bailey that even when she's an old dog, she'll still be your baby! I have a 16yr old dog who isn't doing well, but its so hard to think of him as an old man. He isn't vintage to me!
ReplyDeleteBaily is ADORABLE!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope I did the link right! Its not the last/first post but its on the right day! My vintage post is here http://www.crazysuburbanmom.com/2010/10/wacky-retro-tuesday-giveaway.html

Your love of the dogies is obvious from your stores of the real ones. Now you are sharing time with dog planters. I really like the McCoy one even if it is cracked. My storage shed is still for rent.
ReplyDeleteI love the Goodwill! And anything with a bird will usually convince me it needs to be mine:)
ReplyDeleteI love all of your vintage planters. Absolutely adorable and of course so is dear Bailey!!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Susan and Bentley

Your planters are cute - especially the spotted one!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne- I popped in to check out some more links this morning and I can't seem to see the linky party... I see your post about the planters and all your comments, but no one's thumbnail photos or anything anymore. Not sure what's up? Is it me?! Hrm... confused!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet planter! Bailey is a doll too!

Hi Suzanne, Finally a moment to sit down on my computer.
ReplyDeletewe had errands in town and Cheri' went to the groomer. A wonderful young woman who grooms her in her home. What a find and Cheri' loves her so much. The down side is she is 20 miles away. However, where we live the grocery is 14 miles away. We don't care because in the mountains is like paradise. At least our idea of paradise. If you ever come this far you know we have a cabin. You would be so welcome.
I love your planters of dogs and birds. Who can resist them. You are a good thrifty /vintage shopper. Great prices for your planters. I adore Baily. He is such a cutie. I understand puppy love so well. Smile.
Hope your day is a happy one.
Hugs, Jeanne
Love your planters, I had a lot of those alos but got rid of them with all this purging for moving. I don't have a VTT this week but like looking anyway
ReplyDeleteDonna
My favorite is the one of the two puppies together, what cute things to look at. Have a great VTT.

ReplyDeleteOh these little planters are soooo cute.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been joining in lately-I think after 2 years, the stuff left to show just isn't very interesting. :)
