Oh, The Stresses of Laundry Day

During the summer months I really enjoy hanging my laundry out on the clothes line to dry in the sun. There is seriously nothing like the smell of clothes fresh off the line during the summer months.

Last week, I decided I needed to do one more load which involved some very much loved yet smelly toys. I emptied all the dog toys from their bin and tossed them into the washer and then hung them out on the line to dry.

In the hundred plus degree heat, it did not take them long to dry. In fact, I am quiet sure less time to dry than it would have taken in the clothes dryer. However.....that task proved to be a bit of torture for one small dog.

Sammie has been a toy lover since he came to live with us. The others "might" play every once in a while with a toy, but mostly it is Sammie that has one, or two toys with him most of the time. He was NOT happy when he discovered I had hung his most favorite toys on the clothes line to dry.

In fact, he sat at the sliding glass door "guarding" his toys from the inside. Poor thing, he was not a happy camper.

And as soon as I went to retrieve the clothes and his toys, he was just beside himself....he hopped up in the clothes basket like he was greeting his long lost friends after months of departure from each other. This poor puppy was clearly stressed that afternoon when his favorite toys were out of reach hanging high on the clothesline.

I actually thought I was going to have to carry him into the house atop this pile of clothes and "friends"  when I was taking them into the house.

Oh, the woes of laundry day, especially when it involves the dog's laundry!

  7. adorable story. I do remember one of my nephews who wouldn't budge from in front of the washer and dryer when his bubba (little pillow) was being washed.

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
