Today is SkyWatch Friday. Be sure to click HERE to discover how vast and different the skies we all look at vary from all over the globe. You will be glad you did.

This week I would like to show you one of my favorite places in the whole world. That place would be none other than Cripple Creek, Colorado. This is an old mining town, that boomed during the Gold Rush. Today, it houses small casinos in all the old buildings. These pictures were taken on an afternoon when a storm was brewing over the mountains.

View of Bennett Avenue, the main Street that runs through the town.
Palace Hotel Neon sign taken at dusk.

One of the Casino signs, this was taken right before it started to rain.

Cripple Creek is a charming little town. We love to visit here. You never know what the weather will do on any given moment. We have driven there in sunny weather and leave in the snow, all in a matter of hours.

Hope you enjoyed a peak at one of my favorite places. Enjoy all the SkyWatch post today, and I hope to see you back on Sunday.

  36. Interesting to learn about the changes of Cripple Creek. Is there a reason why they changed houses into casinos.
Anyway, It seems a pleasant town.
Signs always make frontages more attractive.
And the Sky is ... changing, no?
I love in the first picture the view on the street.
