Have you heard of
Pay It Forward going around blog land? If you have not, sit back and get ready this is going to be fun. I signed up under
Patty from
Pip Stitch and
Elizabeth from
Thoughts of an Evil Overlord to participate in their Pay it forward. This means that Patty and Elizabeth will send a handmade goodie sometime over the next 365 days to me and two other people.
How fun is that?! I am rather excited. What is the catch? No catch...just the fact that I get to pay it forward now!
Would you like to be a part of this? I will send a little handmade something to the first
six people who leave me a comment on this post and tell me you would like to participate. Actually, it should be the first
three people...but because I signed up twice, that means I need to Pay it forward to 6 others. You don't have to commit to six, only
three. By signing up here, you're agreeing to then Pay It Forward to three more people. The goodies you send do not have to be elaborate or expensive. The only rules are that it's handmade by you and must be sent out within the next year. Also, be sure and post about this on your blog and let 3 others join in on the fun. The possibilities are endless....baked goods, cards, tags, ornaments, frame, just about anything goes as long as it is homemade.
Fun things!
Remember this will be passed on to the first six who sign up for this
Pay it Forward and agree to Pay it Forward to only three others, and that is it.
Now, If I can ask you for a little help....And like I said, I might be willing to pay a
small reward for the find. I know there are many bloggers who do a lot of hand work. I am looking for anyone who has the following patterns or if you know how I can get my hands on a copy of this....to try and make....any help would be most appreciated. This was listed on a eBay auction as vintage design, which it may be, but I want to have a set of these so very bad, and I am sure you will guess as to why that is!
I was outbid on eBay on this set of pillowcases and table runner and to be honest the price was
more than a full tank of gas back last summer when the gas was at a all time high.
So, I am hoping for find this pattern myself.....so I can try and make this for myself or I may have to pay someone to make it for me!! But will be willing to pay a small reward for the find of this pattern or patterns.
Thanks gals, I am most confident someone will be able to locate this for me in no time!
Forget the fact that I have searched and searched for this vintage stitch pattern myself to no avail.
I wish I could help you with the stitch pattern, but I've never seen that one before. I wish I knew what happened to gram's old patterns.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole pay it forward idea too - how great!! Sounds like a lot of fun!
The pay it forward sounds great! I've got my fingers searching for that pattern, I haven't come across it yet though.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a cinch to create that drawing. And it's easy to tell what type of stitches are used to embroider it. I could do it on tracing paper for you, if you want that, but then you'd have to find a way to transfer it onto a pillow case or whatever you wished to work it on. Let me know if I can help that way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pattern...hope someone can help you out! Good luck with the Pay It Forward!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Pay It Forward! I get free gifts from etsy sellers all the time when I purchase something. It seems we all have little things we make lying around, OOAK goodies that make great little gifts. Just an excellent idea, bringing the bloggerdom into the real world. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm searching for your pattern, too, and will let you know when I find it!
hi! I am utterly NOT crafty, so as much as I would like to sign up for this event, the three people I send to would be gipped. So this is not me signing up, this is me trying to help with the embroidery problem. I read this blog...
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyfioretta.blogspot.com
...she does a lot of crafty stuff, including embroidery, and I think she makes up a lot of her patterns herself. She does have an etsy shop, but you might be able to ask her to custom design something similar for you!
I hope you find what you are looking for!
I love that doxie pattern; I hope you get it.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute---if I find some like these I certainly will buy them for you.
ReplyDeleteCould you Xerox it on to tracing paper and then put it on your fabric as you have the stitches and the colors?
ReplyDeleteHave a Wonderful Day

I have a lot of old embroidery, but not this design. I am sure in some estate or garage sale, someone could still have it.
ReplyDeleteOh that is such a cute cross stitch pattern. I can certainly see why YOU would want to have that. I hope someone comes up with the pattern. laurie

ReplyDeletethat is so cute, no wonder you want it. I will check my patterns.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne,
ReplyDeleteI have tons of patterns of everything you can think of.. I will start to search through and see if I have one of these sweet doggies. If you can't find, I saw that someone offered to do you one on tracing paper. There is a red transfer pen I use to make my own iron on embroidery patterns. JoAnn's has them and they work great..but meanwhile, I will be searching thru my patterns..CC
I have a Pay It Forward on my blog, too. It looked fun and a nice break from swaps
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, can I post pictures of your embroidery on the Flickr group "Hoop Love" and see if anyone knows the pattern?
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, you could take the photo and trace the design to make your own pattern.
ReplyDeletePatty is probably the best resource I could suggest.
I have enjoyed looking through your blog this morning. I love dachsies, too. I plan to post on Vintage Thursday, missed last week. What wonderful embroideries. Dora and Sophie are beautiful!
