****** Thank you Elizabeth for pointing out the fact that November 20th is my anniversary for one year hosting Vintage Thingies Thursday.....it slipped my mind....I took over VTT from Lisa, The Apron Queen when her life took her in a different direction, and had to give up blogging....this day was just too good to let go that easy, so I took it over.....thank you girls for your support over the last year and for showing up each and every week.....and Thanks Elizabeth....for keeping me up to date......I really appreciate it!!!This week, I have some really neat bowls that I came across at out local Goodwill a few weeks ago. I loved the design and the pattern and of course, I knew they were old, so I loved that about them.
Too bad I did not have a whole set....the looks sort Thanksgiving-y to me......but I do love the color. I got 5 bowls for $2.00....bargain.
Here is the marking on the back of the bowl. If you look closely, you can see the crazing in the ironstone....love that too!
This one is displayed on top of my cabinet in the laundry room, and I have the others tucked away in a safe place!!
I hope everyone has a great holiday week ahead....I will have a Vintage Thingies post up for Thanksgiving....I am sure most of you will by busy, but some of us...well....we are creatures of habit and will show up! I am listing my holiday plan on Friday, with a few healthy recipes....if you care to take a peek! Have a great Vintage Thursday everyone!!!
I'm so excited to be first on the Linky; I've never had that anywhere before!
ReplyDeleteYou know me, Suzanne! I'll definitely be here next week. Can't decide if I'll post something Thanksgiving, or just start right off w/ Christmas.
I love those bowls. Very of the season.
ReplyDeleteI had to come back to wish you Happy Anniversary! Did you know that Thursday, November 20th, 2008 was your first week hosting VTT?

When I tried to relink I was "told" that I had already linked and not to try again. Any suggestions? Thanks,

The bowls are truly lovely. I think you are right, it is a kind of cheery harvest pattern in a way. Nice to have reds instead of just oranges and browns for Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Congratulations on your VTT anniversary! The bowl is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday!
That is a great dish! What a fun pattern!
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty bowls; you have a way of finding the cutest items.
ReplyDeleteAs for trees, I don't like my house or yard in shade. I don't like dark. I like light and bright! I guess I'm a perfect person to live in Florida. I want Palm trees.
You're laundry room is inspiring - If I ever do mine over ...and I totally should...it will be becuse you keep posting about yours.
ReplyDeletetracy
Lovely plates, perfect for thanksgiving dinner - congrats on hosting VTT for a year!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, and happy anniversary! How cool is that! I, too, had no idea you took this over for someone else - it can be a lot of work, I have found out, after starting my own 'little' meme. It's been fun, though, and I do join in yours when I can find something interesting around to show off! Have a great rest o the week!
ReplyDeleteGuess I am going to have to give you my Goodwill gift card. You seem to do better at finding things. You did good on the bowl. It is a real pretty keeper.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic find you got in those bowls. They are absolutely beautiful. Hopefully you can find many more pieces to go with them. I see there are Mason replacement sites online but ebay would be a lot less spendy! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your year of being our hostess and thank goodness you took over - this is such a great posting subject - 'til I run out anyway. LOL
Well, I'm waaaaaaay down there at number 31 but o'well just glad to be back and posting again!!!
A year!!! It's hard to believe.
ReplyDelete$2 for 5 bowls? Goodwill really is good in your area!
ReplyDeleteThe painting along the edge makes the plates appear to have a scalloped edge - so pretty.
Happy Anniversary!
how very pretty...
ReplyDeleteyou are a treasure hunting queen!
Oh wow -- you got an amazing, amazing bargain there -- Mason's ironstone is very collectible! It's a gorgeous pattern, too -- very classic, and very old. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat pattern is so beautiful; love the deep rich colors. Charming!
Cass
PS I love the subtle crazing too. So beautiful, and a reminder of the pieces' age.
What treasures you found. This is my first VTT and I have had a lot of fun. Thank you so much for hosting.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Jo
Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteThis is the second week I have not been able to sign up on McLinky, and the second time I cannot click on anyone else's link, either.
Has anyone else mentioned this?
rachel@LawnTea
I love all those bowls and a Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT Anniversary Suzanne! I'm glad that you kept it going. And the bowls are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT Anniversary! I'm not posting this week...still on vacation but glad I checked in! I can't thank you enough for picking up the mantle from Lisa and continuing VTT! You've seen it grow ever bigger too!
ReplyDeleteThe dishes are beautiful! We've never had a set of dishes, together, just bits and pieces that have come down through the years. One of these days I'll find a set I truly love and then have a decision to make.
ReplyDeletesmile
I'm enjoying VTT, thanks for hosting.
