Well, it is a start to a brand new year....and I have a brand new button for Vintage Thingie Thursday....Please grab the code on my side bar for the new button. I figured it was time to create my very own VTT button, as the original button was created by the original host of VTT. The Vintage lady has officially retired. Thank you Lisa, she served us well.
I did happen upon some great vintage goodies after the holidays, and I am sure you will be rolling your eyes at the computer screen, and are most likely tired of all the holiday post...I promise, this is the last one from me....I just could not stand the thought of packing them all up and having to wait a year to show them off.....forgive me!
This adorable butter dish was a Goodwill find...I normally don't pay too much attention to butter dishes, but this one...well....perfect for the holiday table at the end of this year....man, that sounds funny....end of this year.....get it???
There is no mark on the bottom of this, so I am really not sure of the pattern, but "a sleigh ride together with you" comes to mind each time I look at it. The bottom does have some crazing...but you know me....that makes it that much better in my eyes. Grand total of this little treasure was only .95 cents.
This bowl of goodness was an exceptional find. Each of the large bulbs were $1.00 each. I have paid in the neighborhood of $5.00 to $7.00 each for ornaments exactly like these....I was thrilled at the bargain price. They are safely packed away for next year.
I almost past this little mug up when I was looking around at Goodwill. At first glance, I did not think this to be old. But this Santa's sweet smile and wonderful beard kept calling me to take a second look......
....and look what I discovered when I turned him over......1959....Holt Howard.....Oh, My. What a steal at .50 cents....I just love him even more that I know he is an older Santa and not modern. HaHa
Lastly, this wonderful collection of wooden ornaments. I have to say, they are ALMOST vintage...date on back of box says 1991....but being that they were in the original box, and appear to not have been used at all...I had to have them.
I remember these and think at one time, I may have had a couple of the ones in this package...but never did I have a whole set, much less in original packaging...I thought this was a great deal at $4.00 for the box.
Well, girls and guys....sorry you had to look at more Christmas treasures, but I could not resist.....I am so looking forward to the New Year and another year of wonderful treasures and vintage finds. Have a great Vintage Thingie Thursday and a great weekend ahead.

What beautiful finds! The butter dish is so sweet. I have a bag of little wooden ornaments like those you found; I got them in various "mystery" Xmas bags that I'd purchased for 99 cents at a thrift store. I was planning on putting them in my yard sale. But seeing yours got me thinking about doing a permanent Advent calendar/ shelf! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the "Vintage Find of the Day" ? That Santa Mug would have me on a high for days. Can't wait to participate in the "Vintage Thingy Thursday" need to put up a vintage post first though. Thanks for the inspiration.

I had to laugh when I saw your Santa Mug. I had never heard Holt-Howard until this Christmas. Several of the nice blogging ladies gave me a lessons on this collectible. We even joked about finding one at Goodwill. I am so jealous! Thanks for showing what the marking looks like, I was wondering. Stop by my January 3rd post on my Holt-Howard story.
