Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a really good time each and every week!!!
If you are new to this party, please take the time to read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so please make sure you follow the instructions. Please only ONE link per week. Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies on display that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.
I am always attracted to things with dogs on them. These cards were no exception. They are so sweet and complete sets was an added bonus.
Too bad they were not dachshunds, but they were so cute, it did not matter.
I remember these from the seventies. Someone in our family had a set of cards like this that had two different type of ships for the designs. I never cared too much for the ships but I know one thing, I like the dogs so much better. Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday!!

Suzanne, Cute cards. Do you ever use them? I've linked in but messed up the picture. Sorry about that. Thanks for hosting. Happy Thursday.
ReplyDeleteYour playing cards are adorable. I love dogs as well. We are sitting my son's red dachshund this week. His name is R. D. for red dog.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the puppies with the paint. We one had a dachshund that got into a friends garage, while chasing their cat thru the cat door. I had to stand outside listening the the mayhem. When my neighbor got home. she opened the garage door revealing the cans of paint splashed around.
You see those cards have special meaning. Thanks for sharing,
Blessings, Ginger

Good morning Suzanne, I love the cards too. I am definitely a dog lover as well. Of course, poodles are my fave but all dogs just touch my heart. I am an avid card player but I think I would not use these cuties.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day Suzanne.
Hugs, Jeanne
What sweet pups! I have a set from the eighties with flowers, and I got Hubby a set with a royal seal. Unbeknownst to me, his had different English monarchs for the face cards!
ReplyDeleteThe puppies are very precious! Enjoy your day and thanks for hosting such a fun party! ♥
ReplyDeleteThe cards are so cute! Since they are full decks, do you play with them?
ReplyDeleteHi, Colorado Lady....brrrrr, if you were in Colorado this morning, you'd be sooo cold. :)))
ReplyDeleteI am never sure if what I feature is vintage...some say it has to be 20 yrs or more....some say 7 yrs and older.
My little plate and dome are both over 7 but not sure they are 20. But, HEY...my grandgirl on my post today IS 20....hahaaahhaa...just wait til I tell her she is my VINTAGE for today.
Thanks, sweetie, for hosting.

ReplyDeleteYou better put these in high places, as your other children might not think too highly of you having foreign doggies around.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteI love your doggie playing cards! whisper whisper I long to start collecting doggie stuff but there isn't a square inch of spare space left in my house. WAH!

Love the vintage playing cards! I have several decks that used to belong to my grandmother - I remember we would always take them out of the secretary desk drawer whenever we'd go visit her and beg to play Go Fish. Later when we were older she and Grandpa taught us to play Cribbage as well. Great games, and the cards are a sweet reminder. Thanks for sharing your cards, and for hosting VTT!
