It seems the new "phrase" for losing weight is "It's not a diet, it is a l-i-f-e-s-t-y-l-e C-h-a-n-g-e"
....Well first off...I was happy with my lifestyle, thank you very much. I just want to lose a few pounds.
This is my mood today.....chocolate, a taco, a hamburger, a Pepsi or some Halloween candy would make me feel a lot better....just sayin'.
But, I AM NOT on a DIET...NOPE....it is a Lifestyle Change....Yippy... makes me feel better.....NOT!

Oh, Suzanne, this Suzanne knows how you feel. I will tell you, however, that a friend and I have been following the Flat Belly Diet by Prevention, and you get to have chocolate on this diet!! Seriously! So not too bad, and fairly easy to follow. check it out by going to the Prevention Website or the book is at walmart.
ReplyDeleteWishing you the best!
Suzanne
I'm feeling it. The hardest thing for me to lose weight is my bedtime snack. When I was younger...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, make a bunch of very small quilts and get to quilting. Make a whole cloth quilt. Don't wait for a professional! The quilting part is the most relaxing part. Or, you might check with Vera at Seams to Sew and Quilt. You can find her in my list of folks I follow. She's in CA, but she does GREAT work and might not have a long waitlist, if you don't mind mailing your quilts to her and paying to have her mail them back. Good luck. Lane
I probably should practice a "lifestyle change" but I love food way too much....but my love of food combined with my distain for exercise doesn't make for a very fit Jane!!!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne,
ReplyDeleteThe battle has just wore me down. I can't stand mirrors. I went to Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago after getting up the nerve and they were closed. Is that a sign???
xoxo
Jane
I like to cook...and not crap that has no taste, I live to eat, and not crap with no taste, I hate to exercise....so why would that little phrase encourage me to change my lifestyle.. I am sorry those skinny little you know whats should come up with something a little better than that....I think the key is DIE-t...die trying to Diet....LOL
ReplyDeleteHey Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteI need to make a lifestyle change too! But what do you do when anything that has artificial sugar in it makes you deathly sick? Lettuce does me the same way. I don't even know where to start!
Wishing you the best!
Angela
Hi Suzanne~ Dieting is so frustrating so I understand....there are so many of them and it really just comes down to eat less and push away from the table sooner. I see the ads with Maria Osmond and I want to join just so I can look like her....oh well! I have been a chocoholic all my life!!! Someday someone has to come up with a chocolate diet!!!
ReplyDeleteI whole heartily agree, life style change, my foot.
ReplyDeleteStarvation is more like it. I am on nutrasystem and you are only allowed 1/2 cup of anything that they allow, and only 1/4 of a cup of others....
but I'm sticking to it...sighhhhh
Molly
I understand completely. It still is very hard.

Apparently starvation, er, changing your lifestyle, brings out your artistic side, so there is a silver lining. ;^)
ReplyDeleteOh, I hate that phrase! I need to change my lifestyle, but hey, there's always tomorrow! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love to eat and cook and drink. I don't like excercise....you get the picture?
ReplyDeleteI just started bicycling and was able to cycle 3 hours last weeks and line dance one hour, do Yay for me! :)
Ok I have done diets. WW years ago. I had to giggle at the lifestyle change and your post about it. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely have my empathies...I like my life style as is too. Problem is I can maintain the same weight for a long time but, not loose an ounce. I start exercising and gain not lose. Pure Frustration!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you girl! I need to get the walking videos out and start walking. Blondie's Journal said that WW was closed, but I understand that WW is not online! So how do you weigh in??? ;-)

I won't do it. Life is no fun with THAT kind of "lifestyle."
ReplyDeleteAt my age - - - who cares anyway?
By the way, that fruit face is soooooo funny!!! Did you create it yourself or find it someplace?
Suzanne - I know where you are coming from. My derriere could stand a little shrinking. When I made my avatar I gave it wrinkles and tried to puff it up as much as possible, but it still isn't right. The website only let me make it so big. Now since I can't change it, maybe I should change me???
ReplyDeleteBeing the organizer type that you seem to be, if you got some kind of support blog going, I would be in.
Hee hee...great post and pic Suzanne. Good luck with your, ahem....lifestyle change.
ReplyDeleteI hear you sister..close to 50 and my body is telling me so...it goes with other changes...in life..keep posting and let us know if you find the magic ingredients..
ReplyDeleteThe big D word! Yuck!!! I have struggled and been up and down for so many years. I don't know what the answer is, I think some people are skinny, some people are large, and some people are in between. Maybe that is the way it is supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteI love your sad face. Very clever.
Iris
Suzanne...This is an adorable post! Mr. Veggie says it all.....Although some Halloween candy does sound yummy!
ReplyDeleteI like the wording lifestyle change...but if I were to have the ideal lifestyle change..it would be a maid! Hugs!
Suzanne, I preface this comment by telling you that I am quite FAT. However, years ago, I lost 81 lbs. with Weight Watchers--in fact, I lectured for them for 2 years. Then, (sigh) I ate a piece of cake.
ReplyDeleteBut, I digress... WW's slogan was "It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle."
sure.
You should read either this person's blog or get her 3rd book "Such a Pretty Fat" by Jen Lancaster. I laughed myself silly so many times! Her website is: www.jensylvania.com She has 4 books out and I have read three and have had times I was crying because it was so funny! Good luck! Lisa
ReplyDeleteThe origin of the word diet is from the Greek meaning "way of life" so you are on the right track! Check this site for affirmation.http://www.speakwell.com/well/2002_fall/1a.shtml
ReplyDeleteI had to change my diet, I mean I had to do a lifestyle change, in 2007. I discovered I can not eat wheat, so that leaves a lot of stuff I can no longer eat. Oh, what I would give to be able to eat a slice of chocolate cake, or biscuits and gravy, or a soft pretzel with mustard. I can only dream now.
