The Fruits of Your Labor

I am sure most of you remember the quilt I finished last month for my son to take to his friend who is serving our country in the Air Force. It is so nice when you know the fruits of your labor have been appreciated and loved.

Here is Erika, my sons good friend with her new quilt. I am so pleased she loved it.

Erika sent me the sweetest thank you note expressing how special this gift was to her. That really made my day and I was so glad to do it, for her and for my son.

Just thought you'd enjoy seeing how warmly received that little patriotic quilt was by its new owner. I am thrilled she sent the pictures, that way, I have a record of the owner and the quilt that I made in the spring of 2010. Take care Erika, and may this little quilt bring you comfort and a lot of joy.

  9. The quilt is lovely. The only quilts I have the patience to sew are yo-yo's. What a lovely thought for you to make this young lady a quilt. Very proud to see that she is serving her country. May the quilt always keep her warm and with the kindness that made it, keep her safe.

  10. Isn't it just lovely to see the work of your hands so enjoyed and used and respected by the receiver of all that hard work?

She seems to be enjoying that beautiful quilt, and I think you've started a family heirloom.

I can see her grandchildren now, decades from now, doing their research through the Internet the same way we go through old Bibles and drawers full of faded pictures---they'll find this post, with these pictures of a lovely gift to their Grandmother, from a special friend.

  18. Absolutely beautiful, Suzanne! You are so talented. I volunteer with Soldier's Angels and giving to our military is so precious to me. They are constantly in harm's way while protecting all of us. Thank you!

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
