Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies on display that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.
This week, I dug around in our shed and found a couple of old windows I have been holding on to. My husband saw me drag one of them out and was happy as he thought I had decided to get rid of these windows....are you kidding me??? Ummmm... N-O !!!!
Here it sits against a tree after I took the hose to it to wash it off a bit....I do have a plan for this window......but it will have to wait until this weekend.
Here are some milk glass vases and lots of vases that are not milk glass, but you'd never know it now...they had a little makeover and now all of them are beautiful white vases....they have a job to do and I will tell you all about it in a few days.
We have lots of old abandoned buildings that were once businesses all across our town. One day not long ago I spotted a sign in the window of one of the buildings. The windows had bars, but behind the bars on the outside of the window was this advertisement for a circus that came to town.
No date, but I know it had been there for a long time. The tape was wearing off and it was barely still on the window. I talked my husband into driving the "get-away-truck" as I decided to "rescue" this old or at least looks old poster.
I have plans for it as well as the old window.....I have been super busy the last couple of months and soon, I can show you what I have been working on!!
In case you have not noticed, I sometimes go to the extreme when I see something I want. Even it if means prying it off an old window and behind burglar bars at that! I call it trying to improve rundown properties by clearing the windows of trash!!! Ahem....do you agree??
Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday!

I don't want to agree in public on the grounds it may incriminate me. But secretly just between you and me, great score!! :OD
ReplyDeleteLovely looking window! Looking forward seeing what you are planning to do with it :) Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Australia♥

You're such a tease! I can't wait to see what you've been up to. Great score on the poster!
ReplyDeleteI love that old circus poster - what neat thing to have!! Of course, you had to have it!!!!
ReplyDeleteOld windows are great! I was thrilled to find that the previous owners of our 110 year old house had put many of the old windows in the top of the garage when they had new, energy efficient windows installed. They add a special touch to some wall art.
ReplyDeleteGlad u rescued the poster! The date of the circus is my birthday.
ReplyDeleteI had to have a chuckle when I read this post. I could just visualise you getting that poster from behind the bars. :) Can't wait to see what you do with that window. I love what bloggers do with them. x
ReplyDeleteLove your window! Thanks for hosting :)

Can't wait to see what you do with the window. I had the good luck of being behind a man that was going to throw away 10 windows one day. He was kind enough to give them to me! Still pondering what to do with them.
ReplyDeleteI know you will come up with something great for your windows
ReplyDeleteI have 2 stained glass windows and have them setting on the frames of my home office windows they look great. I put a couple small nails to sort of support them on the bottom frames of the windows they are setting on
Let's just say "Im glad you made a clean getaway!" Your accomplice was a good sport.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the reveal of the poster and window……It sounds to me like you were helping to clean up the town. I call that a good deed………..

Thanks for hosting Suzanne! Joining in this Thursday. Glad to see the Colorado fires are coming under control. Still praying for your state. Pam
ReplyDeleteSuzanne I completely agree about cleaning up old buildings and windows by 'rescuing' stuff! Can't wait to see what you do with it. I'll be back later with a post to link up! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI am so anxious to see what you do with your old window. I have one too and I have not decided what to do with it yet. By the way, my hubby would love it if I would clean out some of the stuff I have accumulated. What do they know?
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
I love old windows, and milk glass looks so happy with ribbons! The graphics on the poster would have made me look again too if I thought it were available for FREE. Lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, happy VTT, and happy weekend!
