Vintage Thingie Thursday: Vintage Liberty Magazine

Welcome everyone to Vintage Thingies Thursday. If you have a love for vintage things, well....you have come to the right place. We have a really good time each and every week!!!
If you are new to this party, please take the time to
read and follow the instructions for participating in Vintage Thingies Thursday, click HERE. I try and keep things fairly simple, so please make sure you follow the instructions. Please only ONE link per week. Lastly, if you link in, LINK back to my blog, so everyone can see all of the vintage goodies on display that day. If you don't link back here, they won't know who to visit......thanks so much.

Please forgive me for the delay in the link. I have not felt well at all this week and totally overlooked getting this up. In fact, was in bed last night before seven. It was not until this morning when my email was flooded with concern that something was wrong, that I remembered. Thank you so much to those that emailed me concerned and wanting to know if I was OK. That really means a lot.

I came across a few of these Liberty magazines at a sale a few months ago. They are dated 1938. I love the graphics and the advertisements in these and they are interesting to see and read what was the focus back in that time.

Here is the cover. Notice the cover charge of five cents. I wonder if they could have ever imagined the price we pay for some of the magazines today...crazy if you ask me!

Here is the back cover.....don't think you would find a glamorous woman saying anything like "Look this way for more pleasure" today with a cigarette ad........well maybe you would if it was allowed!

Here is a look at one of the pages on the inside.....really neat to look at these old printed magazines~

Happy Vintage Thingie Thursday...and again, sorry this link was not up before the actual Thursday morning! It has just been one of those weeks and with me not feeling well....well.....that should explain my lapse of memory! Getting old is the pitts!

  6. I LOVE your magazine! It's from my favorite era :) The artwork/advertisements from back then is always so beautiful. Can't you just picture the ladies rushing to get the next copy and reading it cover to cover?

I hope you feel better soon. Thank you for hosting this week's VTT, especially while not feeling well!

  7. The Oprah magazine is $4.88! I saw a gentleman in front of me at the grocery store buying this! Yikes! You can order a subscription for $10 for 6 issues I think! I still like the old favorites like Good Housekeeping and Better Homes and Gardens!
I enjoyed seeing this vintage magazine! Thanks for the share!

Sometimes someone says something really small, and it's like it fits into this empty space in your heart!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts here, they really mean a lot to me!
